(ANSA) - MODENA, 01 JUN - "Now he's free".

These are the words that the babysitter arrested yesterday for the attempted murder of a one-year-old child in Soliera (Modena) would have uttered when the little one was on the pavement under the house, recently fallen from the second floor.

Now the little one is hospitalized at the Maggiore hospital in Bologna.

The woman's sentence would have been reported by neighbors who saw her motionless, in front of the window, yesterday morning.

The babysitter was interrogated yesterday but, in a confused state, she would not have been able to reconstruct the facts with the carabinieri.

The validation hearing was set for Friday 3 June, at 9, in the Modena prison of Sant'Anna.

The 32-year-old has been in jail since yesterday, after being interrogated in the barracks.

This morning her lawyer, Francesca Neri, met her: "She is still emotionally exhausted, but she seemed a little more calm. She also inquired about the child's health. For the rest she is always very absent and did not say anything. on the dynamics of the fall ".

The possibility of requesting a psychiatric examination is not excluded.

"Provided that the public prosecutor does not express the will to make an evidentiary incident", specifies the lawyer Neri.

As for the child's condition, after the night spent in the hospital they are always serious but stable.
