(ANSA) - CREMONA, 04 JUN - The inmates of the Cremona prison last night started several fires in their cellars.
Flames and smoke involved two sections of the structure, on the second and third floors.
Eighty prisoners were evacuated and moved to the promenades while the firefighters extinguished the fires and the police and carabinieri guarded the prison perimeter.
At the basis of the gestoci would be the protest at the decision not to administer a psychiatric drug to the prisoners anymore.
The director of the institute, Rossella Padula, explained that "everything was handled comfortably but in the best way".
