Girotonno: Lebanon wins, Italy third

- Lebanon wins Girotonno, an international event that involves gastronomes, chefs, tuna cooking experts, journalists and experts in Mediterranean gastronomy.

The exhibition, now in its eighteenth edition and organized by the Municipality of Carloforte in Sardinia, transformed the characteristic village on the island of San Pietro from 2 to 5 June into the "Capital of quality tuna".

While the competition in the last day of the "Italian round" saw Lebanon, with the bluefin tuna dish from Carloforte, conquer the top of the standings, winning the victory thanks to the votes expressed by the technical and popular jury.



The final ranking was then completed by the second place of the chef from Colombia, Jose Narbona Rodriguez, executive chef of Mitù, a Colombian restaurant in Milan, from the third place in Italy represented by the Sardinians Davide Atzeni, chef and owner of Coxinendi, a restaurant in front of the castle. di Sanluri, in the heart of Medio Campidano and Mauro Ladu, chef patron of the Abbamele tavern in Mamoiada (Nuoro).

Fourth place in Japan with chefs Roberto Okabe, chef and patron of the Finger's restaurant in Milan, and chef ShimpeyHirota.

The special award goes to the Colombian dish and to chef Jose Narbona Rodriguez.
