(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 06 - The European directive on minimum wages "will not define what Italy must do but will define the framework within which Italy can move and will push more towards interventions that safeguard lower wage levels and towards an organic discipline ".
This was stated by the Minister of Labor Andrea Orlando when asked when exiting Palazzo Chigi.
"If it's an assist, who would want the minimum wage in Italy? It's an assist for the workers", replies Orlando.
