(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 07 - The European Commission will present its proposal for a directive against the planned obsolescence of electronic devices after the summer break.
This was announced by the European Commissioner for the Internal Market, Thierry Breton, at a press conference at the EU Parliament.
"We are working on eco-design to prevent planned obsolescence of smartphones and tablets. Some companies would like us to change our smartphones every three years, we understand them, but it is not the consumers' point of view nor ours, in order to take care of the environment, "Breton stressed.
