One day after a man killed a teacher from Hesse and injured numerous 10th grade students, some seriously, sadness and horror prevailed.
Many eyewitnesses are still under the impression of the brutal act 24 hours later.

A few steps further you heard a tire squeak.

Then this car came to a standstill here in the middle of the intersection, i.e. on the pedestrian crossing, and then two or three seconds later it burned out again with squeaky tires and full throttle.
People flew around again and then I thought he escaped.
But as I later heard, he crashed into a shop window and was arrested.'
A driver had driven a small car into the crowd on a popular shopping street near the Berlin Memorial Church on Wednesday morning.
According to the police, six people are still in a life-threatening condition.
Many passers-by helped the numerous injured immediately after the rampage.

There was an unconscious girl lying there, luckily a passer-by happened to be a doctor.
He had already taken care of that.
She was unconscious, but she was then stable and so far well cared for.
And then there was the teacher from this school class, who was so affected, and I mainly took care of him, together with another passer-by who happened to be there too.
He was conscious, in pain and totally confused of course and didn't know what was going on

The deadly incident on Wednesday is classified by the authorities as a rampage.
The alleged driver - a 29-year-old German-Armenian living in Berlin - was arrested after the crime, also with the help of passers-by.

“We have information that the suspect had a history of mental health issues. The exact circumstances have yet to be clarified as part of the ongoing investigation. I mentioned yesterday because there were false reports there, there is no claiming responsibility. Posters were found in the car. Whether and to what extent these are related to the crime is also the subject of the investigation. There are general police findings on the suspect, for example proceedings for physical harm, trespassing and insult, but no findings relevant to state security. Therefore, based on the current status, I rate yesterday's events as a rampage by a mentally impaired person.«
Many of the victims come from the Kaulbach School in Bad Arolsen, Hesse.
Here the horror and sadness is great, the school has been stopped for the time being.
