(ANSA) - BUENOS AIRES, 02 JUL - The Argentine Economy Minister Martín Guzmán, protagonist of the recent negotiation of refinancing of a debt with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) of 45 billion dollars, has resigned.

Via Twitter, Guzmán argued: "With deep conviction and confidence in my vision of which path Argentina must follow, I will continue to work and act for a more just, free and sovereign homeland."

The news of Guzmán's dismissals came like a bolt from the blue just as the Vice President of the Republic, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, leader of the most radical wing of Argentina's center-left government, was delivering a public speech in which she criticized concepts expressed by President Alberto Fernández.

In a long letter commenting on her announcement of the post, the outgoing Economy Minister Guzmán recalled, alluding to the head of state, that "

US Economy 2001, Joseph Stiglitz, took office at the helm of the Economy Department on 10 December 2019 and remained in office for over 30 months.

At the beginning of which, as recalled in the letter, "we found ourselves facing very particular challenges" related to the fact that "Argentina was in a profound economic and social crisis and foreign debt, to which the pandemic was added".
