“I was in a spiral of self-destruction”: Hayden Panettiere opens up about her postpartum, between alcohol and opiates

Known for her role in the Heroes series, the actress returned to her long depression after the delivery of her daughter, in the columns of People, July 6.


In October 2015, Hayden Panettiere's agent said in a statement, "Hayden is seeking professional help at a specialized facility to help with his baby blues."

"Doctors told me my liver was going to give in," she recalled.

“It hasn't been easy and there have been a lot of ups and downs.

But I don't regret even the ugliest things that happened to me.

I feel incredibly accomplished in what I've done.

And I feel like I have a second chance,” she enthused.

And to conclude: “It's an everyday choice, I always pay attention to myself.

I'm so grateful to still be a part of this world, I'll never take it for granted."
