Because of a bomb threat, a train traveling from Hamburg to Sylt was stopped and evacuated on Saturday evening.

A spokesman for the federal police in Flensburg said there was a telephone reference to a possible bomb in the regional express.

Shortly before Bredstedt, 350 passengers had to leave the train and were taken to the next station by bus.

The train was searched, the spokesman said.

According to a railway spokesman, train traffic had temporarily stopped on the section between Husum and Bredstedt - but the route was released again shortly before 8 p.m.

Federal Finance Minister Christian Lindner (FDP) celebrated his wedding to journalist Franca Lehfeldt on Sylt on Saturday.

Among the guests were top-class political celebrities such as Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) and CDU leader Friedrich Merz.
