No, emergency physicians will not have to find a slot on Doctolib to "take a patient to the emergency room"

Nicolas Dupont-Aignan affirms that "the Samu will have to wait in a car park to find out if, on Doctolib, there is a place in the public hospital

No access to emergencies without a Doctolib slot available?

This is what Nicolas Dupont-Aignan implies in a video posted Friday evening on Twitter.

“We thought that the arrival of Mr. Braun, a former emergency doctor, would perhaps improve things at the Ministry of Health.

And today, we have reached the unacceptable, ”denounces the deputy from Essonne, re-elected last June.

In reality, the reservation slots do not relate to emergency services as such.

We take stock.

What you may have heard or read

Nicolas Dupont-Aignan's video, published shortly before 9:30 p.m. Friday evening, was viewed nearly 60,000 times this Saturday morning at 10 a.m.

“The Minister of Health proposes that the emergency doctors, the Samu, go through Doctolib to find out if they can take a patient to the emergency room.

This means, very concretely, that emergencies are no longer emergencies.

This means that from now on, the Samu will have to wait in a parking lot to find out if, on Doctolib, a private site, there is a place in the public hospital, ”denounces the elected official.

A new #government madness: forcing #SAMU #doctors to open a #Doctolib account to get a place in the #emergency!

There will be deaths for lack of rapid reaction.

A shame !

Nicolas Dupont-Aignan is based in particular on comments made earlier in the day, on CNews, by the emergency doctor Christophe Prudhomme, as he confirmed to us.

“Mr. Braun's new invention is that we Samu doctors will need to have a Doctolib account in order to be able to respond to patients by giving them a possible slot available on Doctolib.

But it's making fun of the mouth of the world", denounced the doctor, also regional adviser of the group "La France insoumise et kines" in Ile-de-France.

What is actually planned

Immediately, many doctors reacted on social networks to deny such projects.

“There is no Doctolib appointment to come to the emergency room,” insists this Saturday morning Dr. Mathias Wargon, head of the emergency department and the Mobile Emergency and Resuscitation Service (SMUR) at the Delafontaine hospital center, in Saint Denis.

The idea, on the other hand, is to develop the system allowing an emergency doctor to make appointments with a general practitioner for certain patients whose condition does not require being taken care of in the emergency room.

The goal is to relieve the hospital, in deep crisis in particular due to a lack of personnel.

“It's called regulation.

Emergency reception services can find appointments with a doctor, without necessarily going through Doctolib but also through another system”, develops Mathias Wargon.

Several doctors questioned also say that they are not aware of the fact that Doctolib would be “privileged” compared to other platforms.

This system is part of the "care access service (SAS)", which is planned to be generalized throughout France.

One of the recommendations of the "Flash mission", led by François Braun just before his appointment as Minister of Health, provides precisely for "regulating admissions, either at the entrance to the service, or by prior medical regulation by the Samu/SAS”.

“This sorting or this regulation will be conditioned on a fully structured filiarisation:

go to consult at…

or

come back tomorrow at…

”, is it indicated as an objective.

Contacted, Christophe Prudhomme confirms that his remarks concerned making appointments via Doctolib with a doctor, and not at the hospital as such.

But he maintains his "indignation".

“We ask people to call the Samu center 15 to make Doctolib appointments.

But we are not sized to handle the calls”, he denounces, refusing to “send patients to city doctors who are fewer and fewer and unequally distributed over the territory”.

Asked that his words were misleading, Nicolas Dupont-Aignan replied by SMS that "it will come, if we don't block, [because] it's their project".

However, this does not appear in the declarations and the avenues mentioned for the future.

“The very fact that this allows you to make an appointment with the doctor is indeed a dangerous sorting upstream, and that is the real problem and the real danger”, nevertheless concludes the chosen one.
