Shakhtar Donetsk have made official the departure of Roberto De Zerbi, one year after his arrival and at the end of a season prematurely interrupted by the conflict in Ukraine.
Having landed on the club's bench in May 2021, De Zerbi, 43, won the Ukrainian Super Cup with Shakhtar, the only trophy awarded last season.
Shakhtar had also managed to qualify for the Champions League group stage and were in first place in the Ukrainian league, suspended in April due to the Russian invasion.
Already last May De Zerbi hinted at a possible "last day as Shakhtar coach", following the last charity match played in Croatia.
