Vadym arrived at Sant'Eugenio on 13 May transported on a flight by the Guardia di Finanza, who had escaped a fire on the bus on which he was traveling with his mother who later died.

Throughout this period the ASL Roma 2 together with the Civil Protection took charge of hosting Vadym's aunt and cousin by providing a cultural mediator interpreter for the entire period in order to guarantee maximum assistance.

Vadym will be hosted in the hotel together with his family for at least two - three weeks before returning to Ukraine as they wish.

In these first six months of 2022, the Large Burns Center of Sant'Eugenio hospitalized and treated 84 patients with a very low mortality rate of 10.7%.
