(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, JULY 11 - "The EU sanctions do not apply to goods or technology related to the transport of gas".
This was stated by a spokesman for the EU Commission, commenting on the Canadian government's decision to return the turbines used in the North Stream 1 and blocked in Canada after maintenance.
The agreement now provides for the turbines to be sent to Germany.
The spokesman stressed that the blockade of the turbines "was one of the excuses" used by Russia to "reduce gas deliveries".
