ANSA Lavoro - ROME, JUL 13 - "The debate has opened and I think you can make a minimum wage".
This was stated by the president of the INPS, Pasquale Tridico, at the ANSA forum, underlining that "23% of workers earn less than the citizenship income".
The INPS president then made it clear that "wage levels are too low, contracts have been stopped for 9 years".
Regarding the solidity of the system, Tridico has assured that "pensions are sustainable" but "we must increase the employment rate".
The INPS president explained that there are "23 million workers and 16 million retirees so a ratio of 1.4, this can be increased if the employment rate increases, many studies say that around 1.4-1.5 is a figure sustainable".
