(ANSA) - ROME, JULY 17 - Spain is on fire.
In addition to the more than 30 fires that broke out yesterday, mainly in the localities of Extremadura, Castile and León, Galicia and Andalusia, a fire in the Jerte Valley was added during the night.
The most worrying is now in the province of Cáceres, where Las Hurdes and Casas de Miravete burned and where this morning the fire in the area of Gargantade los Infiernos, in the Jerte Valley, started with two different outbreaks, was added.
According to Pedro Muñoz, director of the Junta's Forest Police, this new fire is "clearly damaging," writes La Vanguardia.
In terms of burnt area, the Monsagro fire in Salamanca is the most important: the fire affected 9,000 hectares of land and some outbreaks reactivated due to the increased wind, according to the regional Ministry of the Environment.
