Today, the first Swallow, "Bella Mia", is released, the first single from the band's 20th album, written and composed by Zeev Nehama.
"I think that's how it should work," Zeev explains. I'm not looking for trekking in America but in Turkey and Egypt. I was looking for what the young people are doing in this area, which is very connected to the Mediterranean and what is happening here, and I discovered all kinds of music styles. For example, Egyptian carnival music, Turkish music and more. He looked and the tools, and from that we opened up to a whole world. "
He said, "We embarked on a journey that we decided would end in a double album, because then we could afford to do things maybe less radio friendly - songs more complex than we would have done 20 years ago, and today less done in terms of lyrics and music. We flowed there but in part we also stayed true to the work itself and the music, and that's how we earned a double album. "
Does it sadden you that the world of networks is taking over music?
"Whoever targets story and selfie songs most of the time writes bullshit, and bullshit doesn't last. It has a place in the pop industry, there are global bullshit songs and bands that have made careers about it, but I'm not in those directions. "
The first single you release is bouncy and hilarious, with no signs of the plague that shut us down at home. Is there also a reference to Corona in the album created in closures?
"When we began to understand that the world was returning to normal, we went back to music, and to my joy the corona did not enter the songs at all. The whole album is in the style of an Egyptian carnival beat, "A summer Israeli song. I imagined I was on a trip to Tiberias and put it on Paul Volium, and that makes me pan. In a country that has a lot of very bad news, we have the tracks of music left between the new editions, which need to be done a bit."
