The first version of U

– in its original title – told the story of a group of dance and theater students in Madrid, caught up in intrigues mixing ambitions, friendships, rivalries and love stories.

The series, broadcast from 2002 to 2005 over six seasons, was a dazzling success internationally, being exported to 54 countries including France.

It is indeed a sequel that is currently being filmed.

The plot will be set in the Carmen Arranz School of Performing Arts.

The characters of Lola (Beatriz Luengo), Roberto (Miguel Ángel Muñoz) and Silvia (Mónica Cruz), three of the early protagonists, will be there.

Now teachers at the school, they will be joined by Luiso (Lucas Velasco) and Sira (Marta Guerras), two new members of the teaching staff.

Lola Herrera, who plays Carmen Arranz, is expected to make an appearance.

Tensions and a musical

More than fifteen years have passed and Roberto returns from the United States with the idea of ​​staging a great musical on the old successes of the UPA.

Together with Silvia and Lola, they will launch the school entrance exams, in which a new group of students will participate.

Silvia has become the principal of the school since Carmen's retirement, but business is not doing well and tensions with her colleagues have caused her to distance herself from everyone.

Lola meanwhile has two daughters who live with their father in Barcelona, ​​with whom she shares custody.

She dropped out of school due to disagreements with Silvia and continues as a choreographer.

She will return to collaborate on the musical UPA, with the idea of ​​showing that she is still a star.

The cast is completed by the new students of the school: Quique González (Omar), Mónica Mara (Andrea), Marc Betriu (Luca), Claudia Lachispa (Elvira), Almudena Salort (Lala Lazy), Marc Soler (Sergio), Karina Soro (Tara), Alex Medina (Suso) and Nuno Gallego (Dario).

There is no release date announced yet, it is only indicated at the end of the teaser that the first episodes will arrive very soon, probably during the year 2022.
