The Eurojackpot filled with 120 million euros was cracked on Friday evening.
The sum goes to Denmark, as Westlotto announced in Münster.
A player or a syndicate correctly ticked the drawn numbers 1, 11, 17, 19, 33 and the euro numbers 3 and 7.
In the second prize category, 2.985 million euros were distributed eight times.
The previous profit record was 110 million euros.
In May, a syndicate from North Rhine-Westphalia secured this sum, and the profit was divided among 15 people.
The high sum of the jackpot builds up if no player correctly ticks the drawn numbers 5 out of 50 and the euro numbers.
The undistributed money from the first prize category then goes into the jackpot for the next draw.
The place of draw has been Helsinki since the first draw in 2012, and the lottery is coordinated by Westlotto in Münster.
The maximum winnings of 120 million euros have only been possible for a few months: To mark the tenth anniversary of the European lottery, the 18 participating countries raised the upper limit from 90 to 120 million euros at the end of March.
Since then, the players have continued to type five numbers out of 50, but for the so-called Euro numbers they have to type two out of twelve instead of the previous two out of ten.
Since then, the probability of winning the Eurojackpot has been 1 in 140 million, just like in the 6 out of 49 lottery. Before that, it was 1 in 95 million.
The chance of winning anything at all in the Eurojackpot has decreased from 1:26 to 1:32.
There is now a drawing on Tuesday and one on Friday, previously there was only a weekly drawing in the international lottery.
Even larger jackpots are possible in other lotteries: In France, for example, a record jackpot of the Euromillions lottery of 220 million euros was cracked last October, in England a married couple won 184,262,899 pounds in May, the equivalent of around 217 million at the time Euro.
