A fatal traffic accident occurred in Lower Saxony on Saturday evening: a one-year-old girl was run over by a car in Bohmte near Osnabrück and died.
A 38-year-old driver hit the child when turning left with his car on Saturday evening when he rolled on a bobby car from a property into a traffic-calmed area, the police said on Sunday.
The accident happened on a traffic-calmed street.
Despite several attempts at resuscitation by first responders, an ambulance and the crew of an ambulance, the girl died at the scene of the accident.
During the investigation, police noticed the driver smelled alcohol.
A test showed a value of 0.8 per mille, and three blood samples were then taken from the man.
Whether alcohol was the cause of the accident is currently the subject of the investigation, it said.
