Two-wheelers: compulsory technical inspection abandoned, environmental associations counterattack

The government repealed on Tuesday the decree which was to make technical control compulsory for motorcycles from 2023.


The prospect of a technical control for motorcyclists is moving away.

The decree which was to set up a technical control of two-wheelers at the beginning of 2023, was abolished this Tuesday morning by a new decree published in the Official Journal.

In the process, the Minister of Transport, Clément Beaune, received the associations for the defense of motorcyclists' rights - including the French Federation of Angry Motorcyclists (FFMC) - to confirm to them that the project had indeed been "discarded", and that "alternative measures" would henceforth be favoured.
