One more tool to fight future fires?
Airbus carried out conclusive tests last weekend in Spain to transform its A400M transport plane into a water bomber to fight against major fires.
In "real conditions" - at an altitude of 45 m and 230 km / h - the military device, usually used to transport troops or food, dumped 20 tons of water over a field .

A transformation made possible thanks to the use of a “kit”, consisting of two tanks of 10 tonnes each, and installed at the rear of the aircraft.
France currently has 19 A400Ms.
The solution proposed by Airbus, which must still be tested at night, is not yet fully operational.
But it could eventually offer an additional firefighting system.
