Departures on vacation: black Saturday on the roads, difficulties all weekend

2022-07-27T13:31:41.159Z

One of the toughest times of the year to get around is looming. The crossover between Julyists and Augustians will culminate on Saturday

It is one of the busiest times of the year on the roads of France.

The coming weekend is classified as black by Bison Futé, the inter-ministerial body in charge of traffic monitoring.

Friday

will be the second hardest day on the roads during this crossover weekend between July and August riders.

Both in the direction of departures and in that of returns, Bison futé is counting on red.

In the case of returns, the entire Mediterranean arc as well as the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region are concerned;

in the other regions, the returns will be at the orange level, that is to say “difficult”.

Saturday

will be the most difficult day.

It falls into the category of so-called "black" days with "extremely difficult" traffic anticipated in the direction of departures.

In the direction of returns, traffic should be a notch less complex: Bison smart raises the red flag, the one corresponding to a “very difficult traffic”.

On Sunday

, the "difficult" conditions of the orange color dominate, both in the direction of returns and departures.

In the case of returns, only the Mediterranean arc and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region are concerned.

In the direction of departures, the whole country is affected by “difficult” journeys.

Only one exception persists: the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region remains categorized in red.

On Monday

, final slowdowns and traffic jams are expected.

The orange color is expected in the direction of departures and returns along the Mediterranean arc.

The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region will be concerned in the direction of departures.

Bison futé specifies that, throughout the period, in

the direction of departures

, "traffic difficulties are expected, in particular on the A6, A7, A8 and A9 motorways, in the South-East and on the Mediterranean arc, on the A20, A71 and A75 in the Centre-Val de Loire region, on the A61, A62 and A63 in the South-West.

Traffic difficulties are also expected to the west, on the A10 motorway.

In

the direction of returns,

traffic will be “very dense on the A7 motorway in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and in the South-West on the A61 and A62 motorways.

On the Mediterranean arc, traffic will be difficult on the A8 and A9 motorways, on the coast from the Italian border to the Spanish border”.

In the specific case of

Ile-de-France

, in the direction of departures, traffic will be very difficult on Friday "from the end of the morning until the evening and traffic will remain dense overnight from Friday to Saturday, particularly on the A86 and A6B motorways towards the toll gates of the A10 motorway in Saint-Arnoult”, in the Yvelines.

Moreover, independently of these forecasts, Bison futé reminds that work zones are likely to cause slowdowns.

Smart one

Finally, an exception to the traffic restrictions for heavy goods vehicles is made for "the transport of goods for humanitarian purposes to Ukraine and neighboring countries with the exception of Russia and Belarus or to places of grouping located on the national territory of the said goods”.
