God of War Ragnarök: Problem at Sony should reveal everything about the game, an insider warns

God of War Ragnarök only just has an official release date when an insider reports and speaks of huge leaks.
A security gap at Sony is said to be to blame.
Melbourne, Australia – Sony, the console manufacturer and publisher of the PlayStation brand, is currently struggling with leaks in which images and videos from future games are appearing online in advance.
Most recently, it was pictures and videos from the remake of "The Last Of Us".
In addition, around 100 GB of data from a Sony laptop containing confidential data is said to have leaked onto the Internet two months ago.
On YouTube, podcaster Nick Baker indicated that Sony could apparently have a security problem and that further leaks, especially for God of War: Ragnarök, are only a matter of time.

God of War Ragnarok: New leaks on the horizon
What happened?
In the past few weeks, new leaks have appeared on the Internet quite regularly, showing screenshots and videos from the new remake of "The Last of Us".
Apparently, these leaks are just the tip of the iceberg, maybe someone at Sony seems to be leaking material for upcoming games on a large scale.
Nick Baker, co-founder of Xboxera.com, now spoke on his website's podcast about the fact that he was offered a lot more confidential material, for example on God of War: Ragnarok.
A few days ago, Baker published screenshots from the remake of “The Last Of Us”, which are considered genuine.
Sony might have a little problem, a security problem.
[...] I got offers for other things.
Like, "Hey, do you want this stuff and do you want this stuff and this stuff?" And I was just like, "How much is there?" There's a lot.
It could be, I don't know - I could look at something - I could get something from some angry Greek guy raging in Norse mythology.
[...] I think Sony should take a look.

In the podcast, Baker spoke to author and games journalist Jeff Grubb, among others, about the upcoming remake of Sony's post-apocalyptic epic and about leaks at Sony.
Grubb also seems to know more about leaks for God of War: Ragnarök.
Speaking of the leaks, Baker adds, "
Obviously someone got their hands on something in the last month or two
." Baker is clearly alluding to God of War: Ragnarök with his phrasing.
So it's quite possible that a lot more material will leak out in the coming days and weeks before Sony can track down the leaker.

Where does the information come from?
Nick Baker is a podcaster and co-founder of the American games website xboxera.com.
He's been in the industry for a long time and recently shared screenshots of The Last Of Us even before Sony revealed any new footage of the game.
The material was authentic and Baker appears to have other sources on the horizon.

How are players reacting on Reddit?
Baker's statement caused all kinds of speculation on Reddit.
However, some fans are concerned as well, fearing that the leaks will reveal too much of God of War: Ragnarok's plot.

The Last of Us remake was ok as people were more interested in the changes than the story since they already know what's happening.

Sony keeps struggling with security problems:
The manufacturer Sony has repeatedly had to struggle with security problems and hackers in recent years.
The most prominent example is probably the great PlayStation Network hack that occurred in 2011 and shut down the network for a total of 23 days.
Data was stolen from approximately 77 million accounts, including credit card information.
At that time, Sony was criticized because customers were only informed about the data theft many days later.
While the recent leaks and statements from Nick Baker don't necessarily point to a hack, at least someone at Sony seems to have access to confidential material that he's liberally releasing.
It remains to be seen how much of God of War: Ragnarok will be leaked before its release later this year.
