In Switzerland, a car fell about 45 meters from the shore road on Lake Lucerne and then sunk in the water.
Emergency services were able to locate it at a depth of 182 meters on Tuesday, three days after the accident, but the rescue continues.
According to the police, the car struck a rock face in the accident on Sunday, then spun across the oncoming lane and finally broke through a railing.
Locating the car was extremely difficult due to the great depth of the water at the scene of the accident.
"Locating the vehicle and people at this depth also poses a particular challenge for the specialists of the Zurich cantonal police," it said.
A camera boat finally helped to find the car on the bottom of the lake, reported the »NZZ«.
The accident car was then pulled to a water depth that was accessible to the police divers.
What exactly they found is still unclear.
According to the Schwyz canton police, the car should be completely lifted out of the water in a protected and non-visible place and brought to land.
