The network of authorities for consumer health protection in Europe recently warned of a mask from China.
Because it does not meet EU safety standards.
RAPEX repeatedly issues warnings and recalls.
Incidentally, protective and high-visibility vests are part of the basic equipment in the car.
This also applies to rented vehicles.
In an emergency, they offer safety on the road if an accident occurs.
So if you are going on holiday by car, you should check whether you have a suitable vest in the trunk.
Otherwise there is a risk of a fine of up to 200 euros in other European countries.
The legal basis for the publication of RAPEX notifications is Art. 16 of Directive 2001/95/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of December 3, 2001 on general product safety.
The author of the publication is the EU Commission.
The responsible market surveillance authorities in the EU are the originators of the reports themselves.
In Germany, these are the responsible market surveillance authorities of the individual federal states.
Only the information provided on the Commission's website is decisive.
