Inflation has hit hard again.
This time it hit a customer at Penny who was appalled by the high prices.
Munich – In addition to high electricity and gas prices, food prices are also rising significantly.
Anyone who goes shopping has to realize again and again that pretty much everything has become more expensive.
A woman was horrified when she saw the price of aluminum foil at Penny's supermarket.
This costs a total of 4.25 euros at the discounter.
She snaps a picture of it and confronted the supermarket on Facebook.
Penny clarified.
Penny: High prices escalate - aluminum foil costs over 4 euros
The woman could hardly believe her eyes.
Aluminum foil for 4.25 euros.
She posted a photo of the aluminum foil on Facebook.
She wrote: "I was horrified when I saw the price of 4.25 euros for a roll of aluminum foil in your store yesterday.
Everywhere it costs just under 2.00 euros???” The woman is not the first to get upset about the high price.
Another customer was shocked by the enormously high price.

Penny comments on the high prices
Penny commented: "We understand you're upset.
Unfortunately, we also have to use purchase prices as a basis, so that in rare cases, as is currently the case with aluminum foil, there can be fluctuations.
Of course, we continue to strive to always offer our customers low prices.
Nevertheless, we thank you for your feedback.
We will pass that on accordingly.” However, one user points out one thing in particular: “Everywhere it costs just under 2.00 euros – but not 50 meters.”
The user could be right about that.
At Aldi, Lidl and Co., 30 meters of aluminum foil cost around 2 euros.
Rewe also offers 50 meters of aluminum foil for 4.25 euros.
So Penny isn't the only market selling expensive aluminum foil.
The supermarkets are reacting to their high prices.
At least their employees relieve Rewe and Penny by increasing the employee discount.
