In four days, the first five patients with monkeypox (“monkeypox” in English) died in the world: two in Spain, one in Brazil, one in India and another in Peru on Monday.

Also counting the five victims identified in African countries where the disease was endemic, this brings the total toll since mid-May to 10.

But experts rule out panic.
