(ANSA) - MOGADISCIO, AUG 21 - The Somali security forces have ended the siege against the Islamists of Al-Shabaab who attacked the Hayat hotel in the capital Mogadishu: a security commander has made it known.
The siege lasted about thirty hours.
"The security forces have put an end to the siege. The armed assailants have died and there have been no firearms fired from the building in the last few hours," security officer told Afpil, covered by anonymity, adding that the government will hold a press conference tomorrow to explain the dynamics of the bloody attack.
