The operation, carried out on a 19-year-old Apulian girl, lasted 12 hours, and was brought to an end at the Molinette hospital in the City of Health in Turin.
To save the young woman, a national emergency request was launched from the three organs for a single life-saving transplant.
The heart-lung block was taken from a donor from Trieste.
