(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 25 AUG - There is a crowd around the white coffin covered with bouquets of flowers in the church of Beato Odorico di Pordenone for the funeral of Giovanni Zanier, the 15-year-old boy who died after being run over and jumped forward by a driven car by a twenty-year-old US military, drunk.

A crowd that filled the church for a long ceremony.

Crowd composed and moved, of relatives, acquaintances and above all friends, peers of the victim.

In short, the entire Pordenone district where he lived was tightened around the family.

Many joints with motorcycles, with jerseys with "Gio love" photos.

In addition to the parents, of course, the commander of the Usaf Base, Gen. Clark, and the Italian commander were also present.

Giovanni's favorite color was green, so for this reason his friends all showed up wearing a green bandana and wearing a T-shirt with the words 'Gio love'.

Brought from the funeral home where an agigantography and many photos of Giovanni had been posted, the coffin, as a ceremony, was placed in the center of the church.

A very sober ceremony took place here.

Only at the end did the friends read a message.

"Dear Giovanni, we, your friends, are here to share an indescribable pain with your family. We will always remember you with affection and carry you in our hearts".

Giovanni's mother, when asked by a journalist, only replied "I didn't think there were so many people who loved him".

Finally, the coffin was placed in the hearse where many balloons had been placed in greeting.

The ceremony was attended, among others, by the outgoing undersecretary, Vannia Gava, and the mayor of Pordenone, Alessandro Ciriani (ANSA).
