Saying goodbye to Static and Ben-El: the 5 songs we won't forget Israel today

2022-08-25T13:32:23.111Z

The musical duo that was a well-oiled hit machine did announce the end of its journey, but here are five songs that will stay here long after the smoke of the bomb dropped by the two has dissipated

After a professional relationship that lasted about 7 years, during which the two of them showered us with many hits at a dizzying pace, Liraz Russo (Static) and Ben-El Tabori are no more.

The breakup of the duo, which we learned about today (Thursday) after many rumors about clashes between them, made us go to the repertoire of the two, and find with tweezers five of their timeless songs that will stand the test of time and will be played for many years after the personal storms they created in their private lives subside.

"gold"

The song, which can be defined as "Mediterranean pop", was the fifth written by Statik and Ben-El, which was released in 2017, after Statik's objection that he initially did not want the song to be released.

Currently the song is scratching the 60 million views on YouTube.

In an elaborate clip that accompanied the song, TV host Assi Ezer also appeared, as part of the courtship story of Static and Ben-El after a girl in the song who captured their hearts.

"All for the best"

The song that talks about longing for the days that have already passed, and instills optimistic messages such as "everything will be for the best" and "everything will pass" took the radio stations by storm and soon became one of the biggest and most beautiful hits the duo released.

In the song, unlike other hits that preceded it, the names of the singers were not mentioned, and its style was less rhythmic than what we were used to hearing from them until then.

The clip has accumulated over 27 million views to date.

The song reached the 26th place in the annual poll of Galgaltz in 2009.

"zero effort"

"Zero Effort" was a collaboration between Static and Ben-El with Eurovision winner Neta Barzilai (who joined him after Ninet Taib refused to take part in it).

A little more than a year has passed since the song was released on the air and on the radio stations, and we are still in love with it as in the first days when an entire country sang in loud voices "Toshtoosh, you are running".

The song was a huge success, and stayed for 14 weeks in a row at the top of the Galagalz song charts, thus breaking an all-time record for a non-Eurovision song.

"Coast Road"

The song that entered our lives after the song "Barbie" (which is not mentioned here, but was definitely a big hit) was immediately a huge success both from the listeners and from the radio stations that supported it with all its might.

"The Coastal Road", released in 2016, made it to the top twenty most played songs of that year, and reached the 14th place.

In addition, the music video for the song is among the ten most viewed Israeli videos on YouTube.

"Todo Boom"

The duo's biggest song, which started with Static and Ben-El's idea to create a Brazilian-style song, broke the record for plays per day on the radio (this after being played no less than 66 times), and accumulated over one million five hundred thousand views in less than two days from the moment it was uploaded to YouTube.

The music video for the song is the most viewed of the musical couple, and today stands at over 73 million views.

In February 2019, less than two years after it was released, an international music video version of the song was released, featuring reggaeton singer J Balvin.
