(ANSA) - WASHINGTON, AUG 26 - The Justice Department issued the affidavit, covered by omissions, which led to the acclaimed search of Donald Trump's residence in Mar-a-Lago, with the seizure of classified documents.
The CNN reports.
It was ordered by Florida judge Bruce Reinhart in a lawsuit in which Trump himself and the main US media ask for the document to be made public.
In an attached note, the Justice Department explains why the affidavit must remain covered by omission.
"The information contained in the affidavit could be used to identify many, if not all, witnesses," it reads.
"If the identity of the witnesses is revealed, they could be subject to harm including retaliation, intimidation or harassment and even threats to their physical safety," the text continues.
