"The government is conducting a criminal investigation into the improper removal and storage of classified information in unauthorized spaces, as well as the illegal concealment or removal of government documents": this is what was read at the beginning of the affidavit, released today, with which the FBI justified the sensational search of Donald Trump's residence in Mar-a-Lago.

The Justice Department released the affidavit, covered by omission, which led to the sensational search of Trump's residence in Mar-a-Lago, with the seizure of classified documents.

CNN reports it.

It was ordered by Florida judge Bruce Reinhart in a lawsuit in which Trump himself and the main US media are asking for the document to be made public.

In an attached note, the Justice Department explains why the affidavit must remain covered by omissis.

"The information contained in the affidavit could be used to identify many, if not all, witnesses," it reads.

"If the identity of the witnesses is revealed, they could be subject to harm including retaliation, intimidation or harassment and even threats to their physical safety," the text continues.
