"Moin-moin, what's up?
There is news,« Fettes Brot announced news in the social media in a nutshell that the fans of the hip-hop trio will probably not like.
Because: »Fettes Brot ... is history!«, it goes on there.
After almost 30 years, the Hamburg band will soon be history.
"Papa and papa and papa are separating," write the band members Doctor Renz, König Boris and Schiffmeister on Instagram and also give the reason: "In 2022, our common story somehow seems to have been told."
The band came to a surprise concert in Hamburg on Friday and, after almost three years off the stage, delighted their audience.
The trio rapped their hits like "Emanuela", "Nordisch by Nature" and "Jein" from the roof of a harbor barge in front of the beach in Hamburg-Övelgönne, two more performances on the Elbe were to follow.
And now: The announcement that the band will break up in 2023.
However, the "breads", as they are also called, do not withdraw quite so quickly.
According to the announcement, Fettes Brot only want to pack up at the end of 2023 "and emigrate on new paths" after a "banging finale" with a farewell song "Brot weint nicht", farewell tour 2023, greatest hits record and "many surprises from our eternal bucket list".
