“We are afraid to leave our homes”, confides a resident of 6 bis rue Duvergier in the 19th arrondissement in Paris.
On August 16, a shopping cart fell from the 5th floor onto the back of a car.
He was thrown by a bald man in his fifties over his balcony.

This is not the first time an object has been thrown from this location.
“Usually, they were glass bottles,” sighs Thomas (his first name has been changed).
Almost daily, day and night, broken glass echoed in the street.
A climate of anxiety for the inhabitants of the street, who fear receiving a projectile at some point.
“When we go out into the street, we always raise our heads to make sure nothing falls on our heads,” admits Thomas.
Following the shopping cart event, and after the insistence of the neighborhood, the police arrested the individual and brought him to the emergency room for a psychiatric examination.
He returned the next day to his apartment.
The inhabitants of rue Duvergier, exasperated, ask Paris Habitat (the landlord of the accommodation) to evict this man who puts them in danger.
Contacted, Paris Habitat assured that a “legal procedure has been launched and could lead to an eviction”.
