(ANSA) - PERUGIA, 01 SEPT - "We are in the current energy situation because Italy for decades has not seriously dealt with its energy supply and because Europe instead of worrying about making strategic choices like this one was there to make rules on how insects are cooked ": this is how the leader of FdI Giorgia Meloni speaking in the square in Perugia.
"When they tried to point out that Europe had the wrong priorities - she stressed - they told us that we were anti-European".
"If Europe, instead of tying hands and feet to nations it could not control for its energy supply, had made strategic choices, it would not depend on Russia and would have a few more opportunities" said Meloni.
"It is not a question of being autarchic - she added - but of being masters of one's own destiny and Europe is no longer the master of the world".
