With the aim of activating the role of the local community and strengthening civil work in rehabilitating schools and developing educational work, the Ministry of Education signed today 12 memoranda of understanding with a number of associations and institutions in the developmental, cultural, educational and social fields.
The memorandums were signed by the Director of Planning and International Cooperation in the Ministry, Dr. Ghassan Al-Shughari, and representatives of associations and institutions, in the presence of the Minister of Education, Dr. Darem Tabbaa.
The memorandums of understanding signed by the ministry included associations and institutions (Sons of the Golan Al-Mabarrat, Mar Ephrem Al-Syrian, Deir Mar Yaqoub Al-Maqtaa, Al-Birr, Services in Daraa, Development and Development for Good, Arise, Friends of Museums, Akun, Our Generation, Weim Development, Jadayel and Rabie Al-Golan).
The memorandums of understanding include working on cooperation to rehabilitate and maintain damaged schools, holding educational and various supportive sessions with students in basic and secondary education and students who have dropped out of school, and establishing purposeful and educational sports activities and educational and recreational courses inside and outside schools and educational centers.
The memorandums focus on providing school equipment and educational supplies, preparing family support programs for students in schools and families surrounding schools, conducting activities to promote public, personal and health hygiene, contributing to providing psychological and social support sessions for students, and contributing to the realization of educational losses for all students according to the principles approved by the Ministry and according to the official curricula.
After signing the memoranda, the Minister of Education stressed the importance of the participation of the local community in strengthening the relationship with government agencies, especially that voluntary work is one of the most important works that is beneficial to the community and contributes to the reconstruction phase, noting that the number of active associations and institutions with the ministry reaches about 70 associations and institutions.
In turn, the Director of Planning and International Cooperation in the Ministry stressed that the memos contribute to the development of the educational sector significantly, strengthening the educational process and making significant improvements to it.
On the 22nd of last July, the Ministry of Education signed nine memoranda to support vocational training, build the capacity of educational staff, enhance environmental preservation and public hygiene activities, and provide forms of psychological and social support and compensatory lessons for students.
