(ANSA) - BOLZANO, 04 SEPT - A mountaineer lost his life this morning while climbing the Ortles.
Shortly after dawn, the man was climbing towards the summit, which is located at 3,905 meters above sea level, when near the Forcella Coston inside he lost his balance and fell into the void.
The alarm was raised by a climbing partner.
Mountain rescue and Pelikan helicopter rescue intervened on the spot, but the mountaineer had suffered fatal injuries in the fall.
