(ANSA-AFP) - BERLIN, 04 SEPT - Germany "will be able to face the winter" and guarantee its energy supply despite the exhaustion of Russian gas supplies, on which its economy depends heavily.
This was stated by Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
"Russia is no longer a reliable supplier of energy (...) The federal government has been preparing for this eventuality since the beginning of the year", he told the press, stressing that thanks to the diversification of supply sources and the replenishment of gas stocks, the country is able to cope with a prolonged interruption of the Nord Stream pipeline.
