The German conductor Lars Vogt died on Monday September 5 at the age of 51, swept away by cancer, announced his agent.

,” the Askonas Holt agency said on Twitter.

Lars passed away peacefully this afternoon surrounded by his family after battling cancer
," added those who were managing his career.

Since July 2020, he had been musical director of the Orchester de chambre de Paris, a position in which he had been confirmed in 2021. Winner of several prestigious prizes, including the Brahms prize, Mr. Vogt had been recruited by the town hall of Paris when he was musical director of the Royal Northern Sinfonia in Gateshead (Great Britain).
