The commercial battle between TF1 and Canal+ has entered its fourth day.
On Friday September 2, Canal+ decided to cut its subscribers' access to the TF1 group's channels (TF1, TMC, TFX, TF1 Séries Films and LCI) and their replay services.
The measure particularly penalizes the group's satellite customers with the encrypted channel, dependent on this distributor to access television, i.e. nearly 3 million people.
The subsidiary of Vivendi justifies this radical decision by the failure of the negotiations concerning the renewal of its distribution contract for the antennas of the group of Gilles Pélisson.
The previous one, concluded in 2018 after an initial signal cut by Canal+, expired on September 1 at midnight.
