(ANSA) - VENICE, SEPTEMBER 10 - The Venice Golden Lion 79 for best film, awarded by the jury chaired by JulianneMoore, was won by ALL THE BEAUTY AND THE BLOODSHED by Laura Poitras (United States).
The film, the only documentary in the competition, tells the story of American photographer Nan Goldin and documents her struggle against the Sackler family, owners of the pharmaceutical company Purdue Pharma, believed to be responsible for the opioid epidemic in the United States.
