"If a woman were to lead the government for the first time, I challenge anyone to say it wouldn't mean breaking a glass roof."
Giorgia Meloni
, leader of the Brothers of Italy, a guest at the Italian GP in Monza,
told ANSA .
Becoming the first woman prime minister, for Giorgia Meloni would therefore mean breaking a taboo in Italy "which penalizes women, which produces the gender gap, which produces lower wages for equal work, which produces discrimination for women of childbearing age, a series of problems that are all written in the Brothers of Italy program ".
Finally Meloni remarked that "the left-hand driver does not give the femininity license: I am a woman, so the fact of saying that 'you are not a woman if you do not say the things I say', frankly makes me laugh enough".
