A tractor driver is said to have intentionally killed several wild boars in a corn field near Hagenow, and the police in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district are now investigating the 22-year-old.
As a police spokesman said on Tuesday, a hunter filed a criminal complaint against the man on Monday.
According to the Waidmann, the 22-year-old apparently drove behind wild boar and ran over several animals.
According to the hunter, eight wild boars died on Monday.
The Hagenow police have not yet been able to check the information precisely.
The police have started investigations into the violation of the Animal Welfare Act and suspected poaching.
The investigations are just beginning.
So it is not clear where the dead animals are.
Now more witnesses are to be questioned and the accused tractor driver heard.
According to a report by the NDR, the suspected tractor driver was an employee of a subcontractor.
He was actually in action to harvest the field.
According to the report, there are other witnesses to the incident.
The corn harvest is in progress in the northeast, with forage harvesters shredding the plants and tractors picking up the clippings on trailers and driving them away.
Many wild animals have settled in the man-high, large corn fields, especially wild boars.
Before the harvest, aisles are usually also cut in order to be able to hunt wild boar better or so that wild animals can flee from the chopper in good time.
