Hand in hand, kiss, smiles: Albert and Charlene of Monaco surprise in full inauguration

2022-09-13T13:39:09.072Z

Coming to launch the construction of the future refuge of the Society for the Protection of Animals (SPA) of Monaco, Prince Albert II and his wife Charlene appeared very close.

The announcement was made by Prince Albert II: his wife, Charlene, becomes the new president of the Society for the Protection of Animals (SPA) of Monaco.

This choice is not so surprising when you know that the former South African swimming champion has been committed to animal welfare and protection for many years.

Through her foundation, she works in particular to save rhinos but also works with the South African SPA, the Thanda Foundation and the Kevin Richardson Foundation.

It is therefore quite natural that the princely couple went this Monday, September 12 to Peille, a commune in the Alpes-Maritimes near Le Rocher.

And it is together that the parents of Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella laid the first stone of the future refuge.

Completed at the end of 2023, it “will make it possible to accommodate animals in distress in the best conditions”, indicated the Palace.

Hand in hand, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene were very accomplices under the flashes of the photographers.

The Monegasque sovereign prince even kissed his wife on the cheek.

A complicity which undoubtedly seeks to sweep away speculation around a potential divorce.

Divorce Rumors

Rumors have indeed been rife since the long absence of the Princess of Monaco, suffering from an ENT infection which kept her in South Africa for several months.

She was subsequently admitted to a specialized establishment in Switzerland, for “physical and emotional exhaustion”.

In an interview with

the Sunday newspaper

in June, Albert of Monaco said he was "hurt by the malicious rumors that have been peddled" about the absence of Charlene from Monaco for ten months, explaining that it was the "most beautiful thing" which is to have him by his side again.
