(ANSA) - BERLIN, 13 SEPTEMBER - German Chancellor Olaf Scholz spoke today for 90 minutes on the phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
This was announced by the chancellery, underlining that the phone call follows the conversation that Scholz had with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky last 7 September.
"In view of the seriousness of the military situation and the consequences of the war in Ukraine", Scholz urged the Russian president to find a diplomatic solution as soon as possible, "based on a ceasefire, complete withdrawal of Russian troops and respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine ".
