Recall of sesame muesli: risk cannot be completely ruled out
As the manufacturer explains, sesame is
known
to be a risky product in terms of germs.
The additional sterilization process, which is technically carried out with great effort by specialized companies,
reduces the risk of germ contamination - and thus also the risk of salmonella - quite considerably
.
However, it is not technically possible to completely eliminate the risk.”
For this purpose, multi-stage analyzes were carried out during the process, which, due to the well-known nesting of germs, still contained a - very low - residual risk even with high analytical effort.
This case has now occurred.
Managing Director Andreas Wenning therefore apologizes to all customers for this process.
Customers can call the company on +49 (0) 9126 296 0 with questions about the recall.
Recall and Warnings: Diarrhea, cramps and vomiting
Again and again, consumer advocates issue warnings.
A sesame paste from Oldenburg recently triggered such an alarm in twelve federal states.
The sesame cream from a Frankfurt company was also taken out of circulation because of salmonella.

Babies, small children, the elderly and people with a weakened immune system in particular can develop more severe illnesses.
Anyone who has eaten this food and develops severe or persistent symptoms should seek medical attention and report a possible salmonella infection.
