Mathias Pogba, Paul's older brother, and three other individuals have been placed in custody in France as part of the investigation into the extortion reported by the Juventus player.
Mathias Pogba, 32, spontaneously presented himself "in the early afternoon, at the investigation services and was placed in custody" by the French authorities, the sources cited at the end of the day by the French press specify.
Of the four suspects questioned by the investigators, one had been placed in judicial detention yesterday and three others today, the source specified, confirming information initially revealed by the newspaper Le Monde.
On 9 September, Mathias Pogba declared himself "totally unrelated" to the extortions reported by Paul, the subject of a judicial investigation for almost two weeks entrusted to two Parisian judges.
In a lawsuit filed on July 16 in Turin, Paul Pogba denounced extortion attempts suffered between March and July 2022, for several million euros.
In one of the interrogations to which the judicial authorities subjected him, the footballer said he was framed by childhood friends who came to him together with two men in balaclavas to ask him for 13 million euros.
He would have paid 100,000.
Pogba told investigators that he recognized his brother Mathias as one of the two with his face covered.
