SBK 22: Superbike classic relaunched for Xbox, Playstation and PC

After a ten-year break, the Superbike World Championship returns to consoles and the Steam shop - with modern graphics.
Whether F1, Forza Horizon with Hot Wheels encore or Need for Speed: There is no shortage of realistic or imaginative racing games - as long as you are on four wheels.
The situation for motorcycle racers is not quite as lush.
MotoGP is set for every year, but SBK roared over the living room circuit for the last time in ten years.
That was a bit of a shame, especially for everyone who likes to travel with two wheels and 200 in real life.
Because while MotoGP very realistically depicts the corresponding real racing series with high-quality factory machines, you drive at the Superbike World Championship (SBK) with production-based sports motorcycles.
For example, anyone who drives a Kawasaki ZX-10RR privately, or at least dreams of one, can follow their racing efforts as a fan.

And from now on you can also get involved in the action for the title yourself - on Xbox One and X/S, PS4 or PS5, as well as via Steam on the PC.
Because the SBK22 franchise is back, bringing superbikes back to console and PC.
The provider of the 40-euro games is Milestone again - the studio that also publishes MotoGP.
Accordingly, the story and gameplay are similar.
SBK22 also simulates a complete season with all its runs, which can be completed in career mode or now also via multiplayer.
The graphics look extremely realistic, although the Unreal Engine 4 is still used and not the acclaimed 5th generation - apparently so that the console clientele is not limited to the owners of the next-gen devices.

The bike-typical driving physics are also excellently implemented.
Even experienced racers often visit the gravel bed.
Even more rookies, they are happy about the appropriate attitude that limits damage to the bike to the cosmetic one.
You can follow the almost photo-realistic splendor from two first-person perspectives, flying behind as a 3rd person, or you can watch your successful/messed-up race from the outside in replay mode.

However, a gyroscopic pad for Xbox and Co. is sorely missed in this game. After all, motorcycling is the epitome of leaning and a three-dimensional feeling, which a joystick can only insufficiently simulate even on a premium controller such as the Xbox Elite Wireless.
Maybe games like SBK22 will get those responsible to change course in the truest sense of the word.
