Russian opposition activist Vladimir Kara-Murza, whom Moscow considers a foreign agent, was charged with high treason for publicly criticizing Russian authorities.
The lawyer Vadim Prokhorov told TASS.
"Our client was indicted for three incidents, involving three critical speeches on the Russian authorities during public events in Lisbon, Helsinki and Washington. Those statements did not represent any threat to the state, they were open and public criticisms", added the lawyer recalling that Kara-Murza rejects all accusations.
